Both of us
Banz has given Vic a love for Middlesbrough Football Club. She does appreciate this, really! She's given him class, or is that just Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers?
We both enjoy films - Banz's fave is Goodfellas, while Vic's love of the classics (and Clark Gable) stems from Gone With the Wind.
We also enjoy music, having a shared hatred of boy bands and badly manufactured pop. We both like anything different and of current bands, White Stripes, Eels, Queens of the Stone Age
and Travis
are constantly in our CD player. Banz has a soft spot when it comes to New Order
and Depeche Mode
(Vic can't understand the latter), whilst Vic is a lifelong fan of The Beatles
and U2
as well as being a devotee of the grunge era with Pearl Jam
being a particular favourite.
Again when reading, we like anything a bit different, whether it be a travel journal from Peter Moore
or the latest Chuck Palahniuk
novel.
Apart from The Boro, we both love cricket (the Ashes are a particularly testing time in our relationship), cycling (obviously!) and Banz enjoys a round of golf whenever he can (has no hope of Vic ever caddying for him).
And there is of course, travel.
We sensed that our two mountain bikes would not be up to the job so set about researching proper tourers. We were pleased to see plenty of options but it was the Cycling Plus review of the Paul Hewitt Cheviot which caught our eye. Paul individually fits his bike to measure and there's also the ability to mix and match componentry as well as choose frame colour. We're shallow, we liked the idea of picking our own frame colours...
